Scars come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and they may be treated in a variety of methods. Traumatic scars, post-surgical scars, stretch marks, hypertrophic scars, and keloid scars are all possibilities.

 

• All wounds should be kept clean and dry. Wounds and dressings should not be moist for the first two weeks or until we give you permission.
• Please keep domestic pets, especially dogs, away from wounds and linen. Master Sister Sheila, a wound care specialist, has seen numerous serious infections caused by “dogs in the bed.”
• Your wounds will be bandaged with flesh-colored Micropore tape and covered with a sterile waterproof covering for the first two weeks.
