Sta Lotion 500ml Spray
An astringent lotion for skin conditions in dogs, e.g. “hot-spots” (moist dermatitis) and eczemas. Contains salicylic and tannic acids in an alcohol base. STA Lotion is also used to toughen footpads of dogs where these are undesirably tender.
How it works:
Salicylic acid has bacteriostatic and fungicidal properties and acts as a keratolytic.Tannic acid is astringent. In combination with alcohol, the two organic acids have a powerful astringent action which precipitates protein, debrides necrotic tissue, cleans and sterilises the affected tissue and allows the granulating process to begin.
